BILTRICIDE DESCRIPTION:
PRAZIQUANTEL - ORAL (prazz-ih-KWAN-tull)

BILTRICIDE SIDE EFFECTS:

Some of the side effects you may experience while taking this medication are: headache,dizziness,drowsiness, weakness,tiredness,nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and you may experience increased sweating. If you feel like your symptoms are getting worse, you should contact your doctor right away. It is unlikely, but you should calll your doctor right awayreport promptly if you have a: rash, fever,seizures, joint or muscle pain, bloody diarrhea,stomach pain, or rapid heartbeat. If you notice any other side effects that may not be listed above, you should call your doctor or pharmacist and discuss these with them.

HOW TO USE BILTRICIDE:
BILTRICIDE: This is an oral medication that should be taken with food, just like your doctor has prescribed. You should not chew the tablets. This drug does have a bitter taste and is much more tolerable if it is swallowed quickly with water during a meal. The dosage is based on your specific medical condition and your response to therapy. Call your doctor if your condition does not improve after a few days.

BILTRICIDE USES:
BILTRICIDE is used in treating infections from parasites (e.g., schistosoma and liver flukes).

OTHER USES OF BILTRICIDE:
BILTRICIDE can also be used to treat tapeworm infections.

BILTRICIDE PRECAUTIONS:
You should disclose your complete medical history to your doctor. including any allergies, infections of  the eye (ocular or spinal cysticercosis), seizures or liver disease. It is important to limit your alcohol intake, because it may intensify certain side effects of BILTRICIDE. Caution should be taken when performing tasks that require alertness (e.g., driving) during therapy and for at least 24 hours after the last dose. You should tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this medication. BILTRICIDE is excreted into breast milk.  If you are a nursing mother, you should temporarily stop breast-feeding on the day of therapy and for 72 hours after taking the last dose. Talk to  your doctor about details before breast-feeding while on this drug.

BILTRICIDE DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Make a list of all the prescription and nonprescription medication you use, especially oxamniquine, carbamazepine, phenytoin, dexamethasone and drugs that cause drowsiness such as sedatives, tranquilizers, psychiatric medications (e.g., certain antidepressants or chlorpromazine), anti-seizure drugs, and certain muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine) and certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine). Antihistamines can be found in many nonprescription products, such as cough-and-cold medicines. Make sure you check the labels carefully and ask your pharmacist for advice if you have questions. Do not start or stop any medicine without your doctor or pharmacist approval.

BILTRICIDE OVERDOSE:
If you suspect an overdose, you should call your local poison control center or emergency room right away.

BILTRICIDE NOTES:
Do not share BILTRICIDE with anyone. Your urine and stool samples will be examined and other tests might be done periodically to monitor your progress.

MISSED BILTRICIDE DOSE:
It is important  that you do not miss any doses. However, if you miss a dose, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly to establish a new dosing schedule.

BILTRICIDE STORAGE:
You should store this medication at or below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
